• “Time passes regardless………”

In my college days I had my first ‘gym’ experience. It was a large chain, and it was always rammed with people, and I always felt uncomfortable. Although we were all there to improve our health and let’s be honest, how we felt in our own skin, I can confidently say that I never fit in. Between the sterile environment, the cold steel and the condescending looks, any excitement or confidence that I could muster up on my drive in, very quickly dissipated upon my entry. To last as long as I did, I recruited the help of two gals that I cut out of an old @oxygenmagazine . I put faces on their bodies to remind myself that it was the health and mobility of ‘those bodies’ that I was after and unlike the others at that gym, I didn’t want to be like them – I wanted to be a better “me”. As I alluded to, it didn’t last long. Maybe 6 months? And then time passes….

I’m turning 43 this year, and it was just last summer that I had this intense feeling. I was relaxing outside scrolling through Insta and this ‘Forge’ place came up. (second picture, taken that day with some friends, lol)

To this day, I still don’t know why I clicked on that link….. but there was something, and anyone who knows me, knows that I am all about instinct and gut feelings. I don’t believe in coincidence. And I was right…… and his name was Zac.

Zac is a hurricane trapped in a man. He has his own incredible story, and he knows what it means to fight for something you want. Zac started a small personal training gym, and he seemed different – he seemed like he a) really cared and b) really enjoyed sharing his passion with others. My life has been forever changed for the better since meeting him.

@forgeliftingclub is his creation and it is everything that I thought a gym should be. It is a space with filled with character and grit, not unlike the unbelievably supportive Forge Community found within. A place where dreams are born and honed, and a place where I feel like I belong. If you want to ‘dream’ a bit too, Zac and his stellar team, have the tools you need to succeed. No flashy foyer, and no frills – this is a place of hard work and ‘creation’ as I believe my gym should be.

It is 8 months later, and I am feeling the best that I have ever felt (third pic). I am 46 pounds lighter, and I have lost many inches all over my body (fourth pic). I will never take my health and mobility for granted again. Those ‘gals’ of mine are sure in for a show! (remaining pics) So thankful for Zac, Chris and the whole Forge Family!!!

PSA - If there is something you have been meaning to do, or some itch you need to scratch – what are you waiting for?

    Always remember: “Time passes regardless………….”

So, what will you do with yours?

  • After experiencing one of the most difficult times in my life and hitting what was felt as rock bottom, I knew it was time to make a change.

Weighing in at around 265 lbs, I took a leap and reached out to Zac at Forge Fitness.  One of my friends referred me there and at that point in my life, I had nothing to lose.

I was unable to do anything active with my kids for any length of time and it was very discouraging to say the least.

Once I met Zac, I knew right then and there, he was a good fit for me.

Going to the gym and working out by myself was not an option.  I had no idea what I was doing, and I was setting myself up for yet another failed attempt at my weight loss journey.

Zac was my answer. He has not only been able to properly teach me how to use the weights, he has established a proper meal regime and he outright gives me the ass kicking I need, when I need it.

I started slow, with only two workouts per week, which quickly grew to a regular three to four times per week affair.  I not only knew I needed this, I loved it and I began to crave it.

Zac is always quick to respond to any questions I may have.  He makes himself as available as possible at all times of the day.

Not only can I now keep up with my 2 kids, but they join me occasionally at my workouts.  It’s something they also enjoy and want to participate in.

I look forward to seeing more progress and enjoying life more.   I am so thankful for Zac and Forget Fitness.

    Thanks, Zac!!!!!!!
